The room was super clean, quiet, and more recently remodeled than rooms at other Motel 6s I’ve stayed in. The bathroom still looked dated, and the towels were clean but seemed old, like they’d been washed over and over since the ’70s. The fridge was pretty small. My only other wish is that there were Tesla Superchargers here. I had to backtrack from my route to reach some. There are electric car chargers next door, but they cost money. This is the best Motel 6 I’ve stayed at. The staff were very friendly, and they gave me a free 30-minute-later checkout. It’s north of the Las Vegas hustle and bustle, and the facility felt safe and clean. There’s an elevator, bell carts, plenty of parking around back, and spots to walk your pet. I got in very late and left my bikes locked on the rack. They were safe. I didn’t hear highway traffic, even though the highway is nearby. The hotel’s back is beside what is probably an Amazon distribution center, and there’s a gas station on the way out of town. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby. Motel 6 doesn’t charge a pet fee for up to two pets. If you bring a third, there’s a small charge.
Update: I was charged another $50. I called the property and got the same man as the day before. He said the manager had changed her mind and wouldn’t refund me, then hung up. When I called again to ask for the manager, I was told she’d gone home, they would not refund me, and he hung up again. He wouldn’t even discuss the second charge. I called the main Motel 6 number. Their representative said refunds are up to the manager, their records showed that the manager had issued a refund, and the manager would call about the second charge. The original random $50 charge was described as a smoking fee. We never smoked in the room. I said they could check the cameras and see that we had kids with us and went outside to smoke. They could also see whoever was smoking in the hallway all night. There were ashes all over the carpet. After a lot of arguing, they agreed to refund the charge, but were quite rude about it. If we had smoked in the room, I wouldn’t be arguing or upset. I’m an adult who knows the rules. It feels like they’re scamming travelers with false accusations. I won’t come back after being charged for something we didn’t do. The room and property were clean, and the room had recently been redone. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which would otherwise make me want to return. But the bed and pillows were pretty bad, the walls seemed paper thin, and I spent the night unable to get comfortable and awake from all the noise. The towels still looked like they were from the 1980s.
My father is disabled, has a dog, and wanted to stay on his own. The staff were incredibly kind to him and even kept an eye out. They were glad to help whenever he needed anything. Big thanks to Shawn and Vince for looking after him so well. The dog was allowed, and the place worked out well for him. This hotel is on the edge of Las Vegas, with a gas station and food mart about 100 yards away. The rooms are clean and well kept, though there aren’t some of the amenities you might expect, like a coffee machine or microwave. For a safe place that won’t break the bank, the location and staff are a real plus. Being on the outskirts also means you don’t see homeless people camping nearby, which can be an issue for a vulnerable guest. One thing to know: there are no automatic doors, so getting in could be difficult for someone using a wheelchair. The staff were always willing to help my father when he needed assistance.
We first stayed here coming into Vegas from Elko, and plan to choose it again. It’s on the edge of town, with plenty of room in back for parking a trailer. The rooms are basic, clean, and animal friendly. I like the hard floors. The shower pressure isn’t great, but it’s manageable. We’re very happy with the place.
The room is huge and set up to work well for people using wheelchairs. Even the shower is convenient for them. Hospitality was good, and the stay is functional and affordable. If you’re after luxury, this isn’t the place. Bring your own shampoo and soap. They only provide soap, and it really dries out your skin. 🤣
