The outside area at the back was really pretty, and the bathrooms were clean. We were there for a wedding. The food was okay, but the service felt a little disorganized. I'm not sure whether that was the event center or the people planning the wedding. They didn't have ingredients available for the buffet, so it wouldn't be good for anyone with food allergies or sensitivities.

The location is great, and I'd love to stay again once repairs and upgrades have been made. On this visit, though, the villa's cleanliness and maintenance left a lot to be desired. I'd stayed at the barefoot resort and yacht club before, but this was my worst experience and didn't meet my expectations. We rented a four-bedroom, four-bath villa for our family. For a large place advertised to fit up to 12, it was short on furniture: there were only six dining chairs, and we had eight people. One bed that should have been a king looked like a broken-down red and blue car bed. The bedroom and bathroom walls were scratched and marked and badly needed paint. The baseboards were damaged, poorly installed, or in need of repair and fresh paint. Those little but noticeable details made the whole resort feel worn down and poorly maintained, far from the relaxed, polished place I hoped for. It needs a significant update.

The golf on the resort courses was terrific, and overall we had an excellent experience. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a well-stocked kitchen and good Wi-Fi. A few things need attention: the living room furniture was uncomfortable and should be replaced, and the extra pillows need upgrading. We asked for twin beds in both rooms, but the twins in one room were on a queen frame and couldn't be separated. We took out our garbage as required, but accidentally left a couple of bags because someone forgot and I didn't realize until we'd left. I understand they charge $25 per bag for garbage left behind, which seems steep for an accident. I hope they'll accept my apology. Yes, I'd recommend staying here.

The bathroom was filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned or sanitized. The last guests' dirt, soap, and washcloth were still in the shower, the door was broken, and there was mold and mildew in the crevices. We had to buy cleaning supplies and sanitize it ourselves. There was hair around the sink and dried toothpaste on the mirror and faucet. Musty pillows, golf chips, and unidentified pills were also left in the room. My kids found the pills, hoorayyyy. Our two-bedroom condo was supposed to have a king bed, but it was two twins pushed together. The bed sat so low that it didn't reach the headboard properly. The condo hadn't been cleaned or sanitized at all. We arrived on time but checked in two hours late because, according to the one person at the front desk, they were short staffed despite booking the whole property. We finally got in after 6 PM, with no AC or lights. The man who answered the 24-hour help number was no help. We waited over 24 hours without AC or lights. When maintenance came the next day, they only managed to fix the lights. I've been coming to Barefoot for 10 years and had good stays before, but this was by far my worst vacation. They clearly didn't have the staff to meet guests' needs, so why rent out the whole property? This ruined my kids' summer vacation. I'm disgusted, and I took photos and video of everything.

The front desk staff were very nice when I arrived, but my room packet wasn’t ready like it was for the other guests. The first room they assigned already had someone living in it, though there was no record of that. In the next room, clothes were left under the bed, the dishwasher was full, and the dishes in the cabinets were dirty. The drawers hadn’t been cleared either. I’ve worked in hotel housekeeping and at the front desk, so I know what should be checked before a guest arrives. Housekeeping needs a better system for making sure a place is ready.
