When we arrived yesterday at 3:38 pm, I went to the rental office and was told they'd call and email when our unit was ready. The call came around 4:30. As soon as we walked in, we could smell alcohol. The trash cans were full of beer cans and liquor bottles, dried spaghetti was all over the kitchen, sauce was on the counters and washer and dryer, the sink was full of dirty dishes, and there was vomit and dirty diapers in the rooms. It was horrible. I called the office, and they sent housekeeping. The two young women were overwhelmed by the amount of trash, so I had to call again. Two more women came, and it took them two and a half hours to clean the unit. We were told there wasn't another unit we could move to. My kids went to the pool, but the key fobs didn't work, so we couldn't get in. I've called three times today and keep being told the manager is at another property and will call me back. Four hours have passed. To use the pool, I'm supposed to go to the office for key fobs, but they aren't sure those work either. I have pictures, but haven't been given the option to post them. (Edited 4/3/24 to reply to the owner's response: We stayed in 702 at Sea Winds, 4719 S Ocean Blvd, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. Another response today let me know that owners of units at Sea Winds sometimes rent them out. The office I contacted to confirm our reservation was "Beach Vacations at Myrtle Woods Villas," at 1410 48th Ave N, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. I've added photos.)

We love the Windy Hill location in North Myrtle Beach, less than a mile from Barefoot Landing, and Sea Winds is our favorite place to stay here. We've stayed all over. The atmosphere is very quiet, maintenance staff are often on site, and the huge indoor heated pool and hot tub are clean and usually not crowded. Most condos have two or three bedrooms, updated interiors, and large oceanfront balconies. End units will most likely have an extra side balcony too.

The oceanfront condos are a bit older than the mega buildings next door, but they're well kept and much less crowded. We've rented in the bigger buildings before, where the elevators were packed and the pool was always congested. Here, there's a big pool, and we were very happy with the condos, pool, hot tub, and elevators. The units are nice to rent through VRBO.

I liked staying here, but the floor in my room hadn't been cleaned. There was sand everywhere, and my new white Nike socks turned black even when I tried to clean the floor. I've washed them five times and they're still stained. There was dust in the air vents too, a bug in my daughter's bed that really scared her, and the keyboards weren't working at all, so we had to get new ones.

It's right on the water with great views, and a great price for a family. The pool room, though, is like a sauna. The kids wanted to swim while the parents supervising them looked like they were suffocating. Hopefully they can add a window someday to let in fresh air instead of making everyone sit in an oven.
