Sonesta Simply Suites Cleveland North Olmsted Airport

After I checked into a really terrible hotel and immediately checked out, I found Sonesta Simply Suites on Google Maps, booked it, and was checked in 20 minutes later. Megan at the front desk was an absolute delight and very helpful. After a long day of driving, the room had everything I needed and was immaculate and comfortable. It was spacious and impeccably clean, with an extremely comfortable bed. The kitchenette and full size fridge came in handy since I had food in coolers on my roadtrip, and I got an excellent night’s sleep. I’ll definitely book with the Sonesta brand again.

The location is the one good thing, though there are a dozen other hotels within a mile or so. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Even for a 2 star hotel, I expected better after seeing all the high reviews. The cleanliness was poor. I don’t think the floors were vacuumed between guests, and I stepped on a small shard of broken glass. The pillowcases were stained, and the furniture and bathroom were generally shoddy. The bed was less comfortable than a cot I borrowed from family to sleep on the floor. Wi-Fi was too slow for work, and the gym equipment was broken, which was the only amenity we used. I appreciate the response to my review. My experience didn’t match the high reviews, so I wanted to share another perspective. It’s good that you’d correct issues if asked, but it would be better to clean things properly upfront, which I’m sure most people would prefer.

Finally, room 406 had good heat and was quiet for the most part, though it smelled strongly of cheap perfume or cleaner. The hotel seemed nice overall and the location was good. Sage seemed like a good person, but could be better about her attitude and focusing on customer concerns. I’d probably consider staying again and would recommend it. Getting there was an adventure. I had a Priceline reservation, and Sage at the desk checked me in, but Priceline hadn’t mentioned the mandatory $100 deposit, which they charged at check-in. Room 305 wouldn’t lock behind me, and the people next door were yelling and talking loudly. When I called, Sage said she couldn’t do anything about it, but told me to come down to switch rooms. In room 320 the heater didn’t work. She said to let it run for about an hour, but after 16 minutes at 84 on full heat, one side blew lukewarm air and the other icy cold air. I had to haul my suitcase, laptop, and files downstairs again for another room. There was no apology, and she acted like it was no big deal.

I stayed here for a few months and really liked it. My room was clean and cozy, and the staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Their kindness and professionalism made the hotel a nice place to stay. Thank you to all the staff at this Sonesta Simply Suits!
