Days Inn by Wyndham North Sioux City

We paid half the points that other places wanted, and the room was clean and comfortable with plenty of parking. The staff were friendly at check-in. It’s right off the interstate, but we didn’t hear road noise from our room.

The room was clean and I slept well, which mattered most to me. Breakfast was pretty lacking, so I grabbed something cheap at the gas station across the road. The place is aging, but it was convenient just off my route and cheap. It was much cleaner than I expected. The staff were a little rough around the edges, but really nice people. I’d hire them if I owned the place.

Be cautious. We decided to cancel our reservation and find another hotel after what happened. The manager, George, told us we’d get a full refund, but it’s been a month and we still haven’t received it. That night, our room key had been changed, and I had to speak with George to get back into our room. The issue was our licensed service animal, which is protected under the ADA. They can legally only ask whether it’s a service animal and what it does. George had already verified that she was a service animal. My wife was there while I was at work, and the owner/manager, Don, threatened and harassed her. He yelled at and disrespected her in front of our children, and said he’d kick them out unless she showed him sensitive medical documents. Don also claimed George was new, even though George had previously told us he’d worked there for four years. That doesn’t change Don’s actions. This hotel has a reputation for fraud and for using guests’ cards on file for personal purchases by the hotel.

I only asked the lady for a different pillow, but I think I must have scared her. The next day they wouldn’t renew my room. I don’t know what she told her husband, but his hands were shaking when he started to extend my stay, then he changed his mind. lol
