Budget Inn North Stonington

We ran into some problems on our road trip and had to stop for the night at 11 PM. It was very cheap and just right for a quick stop. The manager was friendly and accommodating.

My wife and I just needed somewhere to crash after a day trip, rather than drive an hour and a half home. We stayed one night. The room smelled a bit moldy, the bathroom was old and dated, and there were water stains on the ceiling, possibly from leaks in the room above.

The room was horrifying. It reeked of mildew, there was gum on the carpet, and when I lifted the blankets and sheets I found crumbs on the mattress. The whole place seemed dirty, and there were piles of stuff in the office. I canceled the booking. The manager charged us half the room price after saying he wouldn't. The only reason I gave one star was the worker there. He knew the place was nasty. They don't clean anything. Stay away.

I paid $200 for the worst hotel I've ever slept in or seen. The room smelled, had mold, and the AC was finicky. The bed was loud and uncomfortable, the tiny fridge was filthy and unplugged when we arrived, and the room was crowded with nasty furniture. There was a dirty towel behind the toilet, and the outlets were inconveniently placed. We had to buzz to get into the office. The shower was broken, though the guy gave me a new shower head. Cabinets were broken, and just about everything with a screw was missing one. The bathroom door stuck with my girlfriend inside. One hinge was missing a screw and the other was so loose it seemed ready to fall off, so I tightened it myself. The desk guy seemed friendly, and this was one of the cheapest hotels in the area, but that doesn't make up for how awful the stay was. Another guest told me they'd had a very similar experience.
