Blue Water Inn & Suites, BW Signature Collection

The staff were wonderful from arrival through checkout, and we had no trouble getting a room for the extra night. My husband and I are BW members and had planned to stay two nights on our way to South Carolina, but the snowstorm kept us an additional night. The lot hadn't been plowed, though that's understandable since NC isn't equipped for snow of that size. We'd stay here again if we were in the area.

I paid over $170 for one night and barely slept. The bed made awful metal noises whenever I moved, even when I first put my hand on it. The bathroom sink was totally clogged, so I brushed my teeth in the tub, and it was still clogged when I checked out. Other guests were shouting, slamming doors, and arguing after 2 a.m. There were only three cars in the lot, so they could easily have put more space between rooms and given people some quiet. This was a complete waste of money. Never again.

We had a lovely view of the golf course, and the room itself was spacious. The staff were polite and friendly. My husband thought breakfast was adequate, though I just had coffee because there wasn't a yogurt choice. I did love the coffee machine, which made a great morning cup. We booked a room described as “handicapped accessible,” but I don't think it really was. The bathroom had enough room for a wheelchair and grab rails in the shower, but there were none by the toilet. It also had a tub, so someone unable to stand wouldn't be able to use a shower chair there. A towel shelf and hanger on the wall would've helped too. When we arrived the towels were set on the tub edge, and we had to move them to a closet shelf.

The room was clean and comfortable, and getting to the hotel was easy. It's close to the main things you'll need, and the staff are friendly and cordial. Breakfast could be better. There's only one waffle maker, so people sometimes have to wait. Adding another one would make a real difference to both the timing and the quality of breakfast.
