Residence Inn by Marriott Philadelphia Montgomeryville

The room photos don’t match what the rooms actually look like. We stayed here while visiting Peddler’s Village, which turned out to be way too far, and that was our first mistake. We had two babies with us, and the hotel smelled strongly of cigarette smoke everywhere, even though the area near our room was marked non-smoking. The rooms were gross, so we left immediately and found another hotel in new hope. The woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful, even before we arrived. We usually love Marriott because it’s a solid choice, but this property wasn’t it.

I wouldn’t choose this Residence Inn again. The staff were the worst part: most seemed more interested in scrolling on their phones than helping guests, and the place didn’t feel welcoming or professional. The hotel also seemed poorly maintained. The stairwells smelled awful, like old hot dogs boiling, and the hallways had their own strange odors. My room was relatively clean, but clearly outdated and in need of updates. Overall, a disappointing stay.

The location was ideal, and the suite worked perfectly for our needs during an almost three-week stay. It was clean and spacious, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We’d had a horrible experience at a different marriot property, but the GM at the residence inn was so accommodating and lovely. Highly, highly recommend. We’ll be back!

The lobby is roomy and has great outdoor seating, and my room was very clean and well looked after by housekeeping, even though it hadn’t been renovated. I’m looking forward to coming back after the renovation. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and attentive to guests’ needs. Special shoutout to Maddy Holyoke.
