Downstairs, you can settle in by the fire with board games and music, and there’s a wraparound porch with comfortable seats and lovely landscaping for morning coffee. The rooms are cozy and very clean, with soft towels and sheets. My husband and I have stayed at the Inn more than once, and Sharon, the innkeeper, is a lovely person. She’s always accommodating at breakfast despite my dietary restrictions. I’d recommend the Northfield Inn to anyone visiting town.

Sharon gave us local recommendations, made me an omelette that worked with my dietary restrictions, and was wonderful to talk with. The owners seem to understand the little things that matter, like strong coffee that keeps coming, a decent TV, and good sheets and towels. The Northfield Inn is clean and uncluttered, with thoughtful details around the house. I was visiting Carleton with my son and couldn’t have picked a better place. We’ll stay here next time we’re back for Carleton or Northfield. :)

The rooms were exceptional, and we enjoyed the breakfast. The porch and grounds were inviting, too. Andy, the owner, and Sharon, the Inn Keeper, made us feel very welcome at the historic Northfield Inn. We’ll definitely return. James and Missie

There are bikes to borrow, a fireplace in the living room, free parking, soft sheets and towels, and homemade baked treats in the afternoon and evening. The rooms are great, spotless, well appointed, and charming, and the location works well. Breakfast was wonderful, and the innkeeper really wants to accommodate your needs. My advice: book early, then come back often!

A lovely inn on a quiet street near Carleton College. The decor is excellent, the rooms are comfortable with fantastic touches, and the food is great. A must stay!
