We left less than two hours after checking in. The room had a strong stale-smoke odor, and soon after we turned out the lights, roaches started appearing on the walls and floor. There were so many that it was shocking. We packed up and went to the desk. The attendant didn’t believe us until we showed photos, then kept offering to move us to another room instead of taking responsibility. We weren’t going to stay after that. When we asked for a refund, we were told to take it up with the third-party booking site. The experience was unsanitary and uncomfortable, and the staff handled it poorly. I’d avoid the place unless you’re willing to deal with pests and no accountability. There’s no way to attach pictures to this review page, which isn’t surprising.
The room was clean, including the bed, and it worked fine for a one-night stay at this price. It was small, though, and we were given two thin pillows. The front desk employee didn’t have extra ones at first, but after we pushed a bit, he eventually brought two more up. Four stars, because what hotel doesn’t have spare pillows?
The hotel charged me for a Saturday night I never used, even though I canceled through Booking.com two full days ahead because the weather changed my plans. The cancellation was free, and I got a confirmation email right away. I called to sort out what should’ve been a simple mistake, but the front desk response was, “Not our problem. Talk to Booking.com.” The attitude and lack of accountability turned this into an easy one-star review. Booking.com later admitted the error was on their end and was ready to refund me. Still, after the way the hotel staff treated me, I’m going straight to my bank instead. If I ran a hotel and someone showed proof of cancellation, I’d ask for the screenshot and fix the charge. This whole mess could’ve been avoided with a quick refund and basic courtesy. They managed to lose a customer before I ever set foot in the building. One star, deserved and permanent.
We paid in full for a two-night reservation made last October, but in March the hotel called to cancel it, saying it was closed for renovations. We think they’d realized they could charge more per night because of Sick New World. We paid less than $150 total, and now they’re asking over $340 a night. It feels like they’re lying to customers, and we’re not clueless. They canceled after nearby hotels had sold out, leaving us with no options close by. They could at least have been honest and given us a chance to make other plans. In October 2025, there were still more reasonably priced options.
The room was clean, and the housekeeping staff were super nice and friendly. It’s close to Texas Speedway and the outlets, and the price isn’t bad. Still, I won’t stay here again. The front desk was rude, there was no microwave in the room, and the roll-in shower flooded the whole bathroom and part of the room. Management also showed little empathy toward people with mobility issues.
