I wish zero stars were an option. We lost power for a couple of days and needed somewhere to stay for one emergency night. It was late, and I was exhausted from trying to get our generator running, so I didn’t check reviews first. Looking back, many of the reviews calling the place “clean” seem fake. This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Finding the entrance was difficult because there was no sign on the front of the building. I had to use maps, then spotted a makeshift printer-paper sign with the hotel name. The stair kick plates were attached with painter’s tape, and the hallway reeked of cigarettes and weed. In the room, one corner had a large dark patch with chipped paint. I suspect it was mold that had been painted over, but I can’t be sure. We checked for bed bugs before letting our kids lie down. The furniture looked like old bedroom sets picked up from the roadside. There was about an inch of dust caked on the bathroom vent, and the floor had dirt and crumbs all over it. I might have overlooked the condition if the billing had stopped at the $114 we paid for an eight-hour stay, already far too much for a place this disgusting. Four days later, another $216 charge appeared out of nowhere. When I called, they said it was a mistake, but seemed shady because they knew which charge I meant before I explained. They said it would be refunded, though I also called my bank to make sure. Don’t stay here. You can get a decent room at a nice hotel for the same money. Zero out of ten.

We left with bites all over my body, and I was traumatized by the experience. Our room was filthy and infested with bedbugs. That night, staff promised to cover the required treatment costs at home. Weeks later, after I sent Rosemont the pest control invoice, the manager denied that employees had made the promise and withdrew the verbal offer. I’m now paying out of pocket to make sure my home wasn’t infested too. Rosemont is refusing to take responsibility for its negligent upkeep, which raises serious health and safety concerns. Disgusting and unacceptable. Avoid this place at all costs.

We were bitten repeatedly and had to leave at around 2 a.m., packing in a panic. The whole thing was extremely distressing, and it affected us for months. We spent a lot to keep the bedbugs from spreading to our homes, including throwing away hard-to-clean things like suitcases. A Rosemont employee agreed that night to refund our stay and cover related costs, but never followed through. Booking.com also didn’t provide the refund it had promised. We still haven’t received any reimbursement. Don’t book here.

The room was dreadful, despite the good location and friendly desk staff. There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling, and the entrance door was held together with duct tape while its locks were disabled. The property is neglected and falling apart. They didn’t service the room during our stay, and the cleaners’ competing scents made it smell weird. There weren’t any outlets on the headboard wall, so no reading lights could be plugged in.

The second room’s key barely worked. It took six different keys to get one that opened the door, and even that only worked about 70 percent of the time. The desk employee said the door would be fixed while we were out, but when we came back, our key wouldn’t open the hotel’s front door either. We were locked outside. No one answered the bell, and the employee whose number was posted on the door no longer worked for the company. We wound up sleeping in our car. The first room had been left uncleaned, with unmade beds and trash everywhere. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever booked, a complete joke. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.
