Super 8 by Wyndham Norwich

For the past couple of months, I’ve been staying here five days a week for work travel. The Super 8 in Norwich NY is top notch, and the staff are even better. I enjoy every night there and can’t imagine staying anywhere else for this need.

The “complimentary breakfast” was just little juice containers and granola bars. The beds were awful, like sleeping on a wooden board, and my daughter’s had a strange sinkhole in it. We even had to move furniture to find an outlet for our electronics. The shower curtain rod was hanging on by one screw, and the tub caulking was black and peeling. Super 8 doesn’t have to be luxurious, and not everyone can afford a luxury place, but the owners should at least keep it maintained. There’s no sense of pride in this property.

The hallway carpets smelled dirty, and over three days my partner and I didn’t get a single peaceful night’s sleep. Bugs attacked us in bed, most likely NOSEEUM bugs, which are microscopic and invisible to the human eye. I’d never heard of them before, and I hope I never have that horrible itching again. I told the receptionist, but he refused to look at my bites and told me to call Travis about a refund. Travis wouldn’t give us even a partial refund. Terrible experience. Stay away.

It’s an older building, so it comes with the problems you’d expect, though the staff do a fantastic job of keeping that from showing. They’re friendly and go out of their way to help.
