Summercamp

The location was great, but this was my worst experience ever. I paid big dollars for a converted attic room where I had to walk hunched over. The bathroom was postage stamp size, with a light fixture no more than 6’ high, and I'm 6’4”. Even the shower on my boat is bigger. I was sick when I checked in at1030, though I know the official check time is 1600. At 1600 the room still wasn't ready. The front desk clerk knew I was sick because I asked where a pharmacy was and sounded awful, but there was no priority check-in for the walking wounded. At 0730, nobody was available to help me carry our suitcases down 4 floors.

Jessica and Scott gave top notch service, and I loved having bikes, helmets, beach towels, and lawn chairs. The room was too small, though it was efficiently planned. One outlet didn't work when I tried to charge my phone on the last night.

We've been coming for many years, and now the next generation looks forward to staying here too. Summercamp is the very best place to stay on Martha’s Vineyard: its location is excellent, and the front porch right on the harbor is hard to beat. You can easily walk there from the ferry. Kate and her team go out of their way to make the stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and if you want something, you just have to ask. It's a great value for the island as well.

The location is perfect, with great views and direct access to the Gingerbread Cottages, restaurants, shopping, and ferry. My room was spotless, the service was impeccable, and everyone was very nice and polite. I'll definitely stay here again.
