We left for another hotel because the room was so unpleasant. The carpet had stains, and a heavy mildew and musty smell made me feel sick and gave us headaches. Opening the windows barely helped. There was also loud music and power-tool noise from nearby houses under construction. I explained at the front desk why we needed to cancel, and the woman offered us a different room, but we chose to go elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We decided not to stay. The room smelled strongly of mold and felt dirty and poorly kept, and opening the windows didn't improve it. Construction right outside brought constant noise and loud music, with cigarette smoke coming into the room too. It was a deeply disappointing experience, and I can't recommend this hotel.

I contacted the property about the visible mold in the shower and sent photos, but never heard back or even got an acknowledgment. For nearly $600 for two nights, I expected a clean, safe room. The lack of cleanliness and customer service was unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. There are better and safer choices in Monterey.

The bed was comfortable, but a lot of the room felt like costs had been cut. The carpet was worn and stained, the coffee maker couldn't get enough pressure to brew, and the small TV looked about 15 years old. When we got back, the cleaning staff had switched off the HVAC, leaving the room at an uncomfortable temperature. There wasn't a full-length mirror either, just a vanity mirror and a decorative one above the headboard at about 5'5". The check-in staff didn't speak English.

The gas fireplace made the place feel nice. There's also a Tesla charging station right in the parking lot, which is handy. The walls are thinner than I expected, though, and there was major construction behind and underneath the venue.
