Chicago Marriott Oak Brook

The staff were nice, and I’ll probably keep this hotel in my Chicago rotation. The location works well, and the rooms are good, though I’ve stayed in better. The shower is small, and the lobby feels less impressive than you might expect. The M Club is fine and open around the clock, but snacks and drinks are limited. Parking was okay, though I can imagine it filling up.

The rooms were ready and clean before check-in, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It was also nice having a Starbucks on site. Even in the updated rooms, there’s some wear and tear, and one day I noticed a sewer smell in the shower. For the price, it was just okay, but I had a good stay overall.

I travel a lot, and Joshua stood out for how he treated everyone, not just me. Whenever he had a free moment, I’d go to the lobby and chat with him. He made me feel like family even though I was far from home, and his sincere hospitality made Marriott feel like home too. Thank you, Joshua.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and the airport is less than 30 minutes away. My room was clean, comfortable, and good overall. The gym feels undersized for a hotel this large, with limited equipment, and better-insulated windows would help with the road noise. I also found it odd that nobody at the front desk greeted guests, given how customer-focused the business is supposed to be.
