Candlewood Suites Milwaukee Airport by IHG

After United sent me to the wrong airport and stranded me, I got here at 1 a.m. The front desk woman seemed to know exactly how to handle it and was kind and understanding, while keeping things brief after my long day. She said a shuttle would be ready when I woke up, then brought me a little bag of water and snacks. She turned a terrible travel day into a pleasant one.

I came to spend the holiday with family, but I won’t stay at a Candlewood Suites again. I’m a platinum member, yet my status and welcome amenity weren’t acknowledged. I usually get the incidental charge waived when I add consecutive nights, but they denied that request for my second night. The salesperson told the front desk they couldn’t waive it because the general manager wasn’t in the office. The desk staff weren’t welcoming, didn’t explain anything, and just took my money and handed over keycards. The bathroom floor mats were stained, and the customer service felt stale. I felt like my loyalty meant nothing here. It’s a 1 for me, and I won’t be back.

There’s a lovely path for walking dogs and people, and it’s pet friendly. Stores are about a mile away. The hotel has free laundry and a workout room, too. Rooms are clean and nice, and the staff are friendly and available whenever you need them. Love it here. And those beds are to die for! 😀

Just needed a night before my 5 a.m. flight. The front desk staff, including the person I’d called earlier, were excellent. Nice amenities, and a short but comfortable stay.
