Days Inn Oak Grove

Don't stay here. The room wasn't clean, the air conditioner didn't work, and it was boiling hot inside. There were bed bugs, and I got a spider bite during my stay.

The staff treated me with a lot of respect and helped with all my accommodations. I brought my dog, and they let me have her for a small fee, which I didn't mind since pet-friendly places are hard to find. The room was nice, with plenty of towels, soap, tissues, and toilet paper. I slept well, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom looked ordinary, but the water pressure was amazing, and the temperature could go from ice cold to burning hot in seconds, so there was no wait for hot water. I appreciated the free parking, the easy-to-use Wi-Fi, and the front desk's offer to help me sign in if needed. There's a small break room with ice and coffee, which came in handy with my cooler. An older gentleman at the desk checked me out quickly and easily. I was kind of sad to leave. The hallways were dim, but that didn't bother me. When I got up in the middle of the night to get food for my dog, the lights didn't blind me, and I fell back asleep quickly. I travel through the Kansas City area several times a year to visit family, and I'll definitely be back. I'd recommend it, especially for a solo or business trip.

The room was clean and everything seemed to work. I liked the big jacuzzi tub in the king suite, and the 50-inch TV was nice, though the picture was so poor, maybe 760p, that I watched on my tablet instead. The Wi-Fi was also very bad. I came Thursday evening when the Chiefs/Broncos game was about to start. The odor in the lobby was awful. I left to try the Holiday Inn up the street, but it had signs saying it was sold out, so I came back. The smell was mainly in the lobby and not my room. For a weekday, $150 for one night felt overpriced, even though rooms with in-room jacuzzis are hard to find and usually cost about twice as much. There was no breakfast included, either. I honestly won't return, I'd rather pay another $50-100 for better quality.

We found the hotel clean, with comfortable beds, very clean towels, and great showers. The location just off the highway was handy, and although we expected traffic noise, it didn't bother us. The price was great, too. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, and the owner at the front desk was very nice. It looked like they were updating some rooms, which is always a plus. We'll stay here again whenever we're passing through.
