I paid extra for a balcony, a pool view, and a sofa bed, but none of those features were there. They put me in first-floor room 164, which had no balcony or pool view. The advertised sofa bed was just a small regular sofa, misleading if you’re traveling with extra people who need a place to sleep. These weren’t little inconveniences. I paid for specific amenities, and the hotel didn’t provide them. Guests should be able to expect the room features they booked when they’re advertised and charged at a premium.

It’s close to public transportation, lots of restaurants, and rideshare drivers are usually around. The area is okay now, though it used to be dangerous. Crime has gone down, but maybe that’s just because it’s winter. I usually book the cheapest rooms, and this one was pretty good, with comfortable beds.

We had a delightful stay in a quiet, very clean room with a comfortable king bed, sofa bed, and refrigerator. There was no microwave, and breakfast isn’t complimentary, though there is a cage where you can order. Staff were very nice and accommodating, and the property is conveniently near Oakland arena. Check-in was easy. One thing to know: they only take certain credit and debit cards, not Apple or Google Pay tap payments, so call ahead to check before arriving.

The desk staff, including rosie, and the cafe staff were very nice, but I won’t stay here again. I stay at Marriott properties weekly, and this was easily my worst experience. The TV didn’t work at all, the room wasn’t clean, including the shower, and the carpet needs replacing. Gross.

A standard, good hotel with solid security. The location isn’t great, through no fault of the hotel. It’s a shame Oakland needs sooooo much security to keep guests safe.
