The room was quiet and very spacious, but there was no air conditioner, which was disappointing on a hot day in Oakland. The main comforter looked dirty, or like it hadn’t been washed for quite some time. The layer underneath was worse, faded in color and marked with bleach spots. It shouldn’t have been used.

I’ve always had respect from the owners, Mike and his wife Roma, whenever I visited their place, and I’d been a good customer for three years. But after I was arrested there because of a warrant, Mike completely changed how he treated me. I’m not mad or upset, but you don’t treat a good customer that way.

For someone who just needs a place to sleep, this was affordable and worth it, and I’d come back. The room was nice, though it showed some wear. I liked the little extras, like the fridge, microwave, and DirectTV, although the fridge wasn’t as cold as you might expect. I couldn’t connect to the free WiFi for some reason, but using an Xfinity hotspot was fine. Parking is limited, though it seems sized for the small number of rooms they rent.

Manager Mike and his wife are really nice, and the place is friendly. This is the only motel I’ll stay at on MacArthur. Other places I tried were awful or charged too much for what they offered. Thanks, Mike.
