The room was cleanish, but had a strange smell, and the AC vent looked like it had mold. The towels looked really used and stained. I didn’t see any bugs, which is why I gave it at least three stars. The king bed had five pillows, and the desk chair was nice. Parking was convenient, the TV was big, and there was an ice machine, though the soda machine was out of order. There’s no breakfast. The night guy was okay and friendly. The other parts of the stay kinda sucked. Check-out is at 10:30 AM, not 11 like a regular hotel. I woke up at 9:30 AM to smoke outside, then found my card wouldn’t let me back in. At the office, the woman offered to open my door, but I said I needed the card reset so I could go in and out to put things in the car, especially with my two kids. She asked if I was getting another room. I said no, I was leaving at check-out, which I thought was 11 like every other normal hotel. She told me it was 10:30. I rolled my eyes and got on with my day after she reset the card. That’s just stupid. Smoking rooms are mixed in with the others instead of being on separate floors, so the halls smelled like cigarettes. They should put them all on the top floor. The door latch was broken too, so I didn’t sleep comfortably and kept getting up all night, worried someone might walk in. So if you want mothball smells all night and to be kicked out at 10-10:30 AM, this is the place for you!

The only thing it has going for it is the location. Oakland is a beautiful town and deserves proper hotel managers instead of Patel's. The hallway carpet smells like the 80s, and they got rid of breakfast and put a daycare for their family in its place.

I had to leave after I started itching, and I wish I’d taken more pictures. The black mold was all over the place, the ice maker and Coke machine didn’t work, it smelled terrible, and the service was horrible. I wouldn’t stay here.

The motel looks nice from outside, but the room had a funny smell and the wallpaper was peeling. I asked them to clean the room and change the sheets, but they wouldn’t. The soda machine took my money without giving me a drink, and the owner didn’t want to refund it. I won’t stay there again.

The staff were friendly, but the room wasn’t cleaned well and there were crackheads in the halls. The place felt so sketchy that I slept with my hair in a bun. We were there for just one night, and I’m pretty sure I got lice from it. I hadn’t had any before the stay, but when I woke up my scalp felt itchy, and it wasn’t dandruff. If you’re thinking about staying here, I don’t recommend it at all. You’d be better off sleeping in your car.
