Extended Stay America Select Suites- Ocala

We only stayed because it was late and we were exhausted. The smell in the room was awful, like wet dog and mold, and it felt like we were camping outside because the dew made everything damp. Roaches, dirty floors that looked as if they hadn't been mopped in months, stained towels, dirty walls, and a grimy outlet were all there. The walls and outlet looked like they had roach eggs and other stuff on them, and the blinds were sticky. The air conditioner was disgusting. Thank goodness I had Lysol with me. I can't believe this place was on booking. It isn't worth $100 or more a night. Someone from the health department needs to inspect it. You can't leave a negative star rating, and even one star gets them something. Don't go.

The price was decent for what you get. It's not the best, but it's not the worst, and the rooms aren't bad. You get a stove top, so I can't complain too much. Service was amazing, especially Destiny, who was upbeat and had great energy. I stayed here a few days ago.

After we were scammed on the house we were renting, my husband, kids, and I suddenly needed somewhere to stay for a few months, so we came here. The staff have been amazing and are always willing to help. Rose has gone out of her way to accommodate my autistic son. She's understanding and sorts out any issue right away. The other employees are really nice and ready to help too. The rooms are very clean, and fresh linen is always available when we need it. I stayed at another Extended Stay America in Largo a few years back, and it was horrible. This location is nothing like that. The staff are top notch, and the hotel is clean and comfortable for me and my kids.

My husband and I were going to stay with our two children, including our eight-month-old, but we walked into a mess and left. There seemed to be health code violations everywhere. The white bed comforters had what looked like dirt on them, and there was dirt on the floor. The stairway smelled strongly of weed and smoke, even though the website says the property is smoke-free. We went to the lobby to check out, but there was no night clerk, only a number to call. We tried that number repeatedly with no answer, and the website number and the 800 number didn't answer either. The 800 number told us to contact the front desk after 9 a.m. We will pursue this in Civil Court if the reservation isn't cancelled. The hotel cameras and our own cameras can verify that we entered, saw the mess, and left. Later, my husband contacted Patricia at the front desk. She was rude and disrespectful, asking if I knew how to read regarding the number provided, the one nobody answered the night before. Do not stay here, especially with kids.
