Shamrock Cove Inn

Being able to park right in front of our room was a real plus, and the hotel was easy to reach. We were just staying the night before continuing our travels, and it worked out great for the price. Reception was friendly, the linens were clean, the towels were good, and the beds surprised me by being super comfortable. We bring our own pillows when we travel, even at a five-star luxury hotel. Starbucks is two blocks away if you need it. Nothing negative to say.

We had a king room, and for the price and location it was hard to beat. Downtown was just a six-minute walk for dinner and drinks. The place is still being renovated, but it worked for us. It was clean, the TV worked, and the water was hot.

The central location and $82 price were appealing, but the room was only okay. It was clean, though tired, with torn wallpaper, a bathroom door that wouldn't close, no bathroom plug, and brown water marks in the sink and shower. Some wiring needs attention too. Outside truck traffic kept interrupting our sleep during our one-night stay. What do you think?

The room had a clean, comfortable bed, water and biscuits (cookies), and plenty of accessible outlets for devices. The A/C was a quiet wall-mounted 'AC Split' unit with a remote, not one of those noisy 1980's window units. Staff I met were pleasant and helpful. For the price, this is perfect. If you want a $200 room, go down the road to the characterless Hilton. This is a sweet little place, recently renovated, with superb in-room amenities. We heard no road or neighbor noise, unlike some other comments. My one reservation was the walk to a concert at the Reilly Centre. Most of it was pleasant, but a couple of blocks went through a fairly industrial area, with parts bordered by a chainlink fence and signs warning that the adjacent fence carried 7000v. We'd go back!
