Silver Princess Motel

We chose this place for its location near the State Park and the pool advertised for our family day there. It was listed as the only available place close by, and cost about as much as a big hotel, so we should've driven farther. The lady at the front office was very nice when we arrived and paid. I soon went back for extra towels because the reservation said three guests, but there were only two towels. No big deal, and I went to get the kids ready for the pool. Then we found it completely empty. Back in the room, the A/C remote wouldn't work, so we climbed on a chair to adjust it, and it took forever to cool the room. About an hour later, my daughter came outside with a cockroach she'd found in the bedroom. What? No way! We stayed because it was late and I was afraid nobody was in the main office. The A/C shut off in the middle of the night, and each bed had only sheets and a blanket no thicker than a sheet. It was unbearable, but we'd already paid and it was too late to leave. I told the nice front-office lady about everything. She said I should have reported the cockroach that night so she could move us. What, so we could meet the rest of the cockroach family? No thanks. I won't stay here again, and I warn others not to make the same mistake. She could at least have offered financial compensation, but didn't. This is literally a ROACH-MOTEL. Don't go!

We love the vintage look with its modern touches. The room was clean and pleasant, and the bathroom was clean too, with a roomy shower. The gentleman at the front desk was polite and friendly when we checked in yesterday. I told him we were celebrating our anniversary, and he shared that he'd been married to his wife for over 40 years. We'd stay here again.

Silver Princess is an older place, but it's been well maintained and made for a pleasant, economical stay. The room was very clean, with a mini-fridge, a small table and two chairs inside, plus two chairs outside the door. We could park right in front, so unloading our things was quick and easy. It's on a busy highway, but near downtown, and the location was fine. Check-in was very fast, and the woman at the desk was extremely nice. No frills, but we'd stay again when visiting Ocala, Silver Springs State Park, or the surrounding area.

The grounds were beautifully kept, with colorful flowers, and the rooms were very clean. It's an older motel, but the beds were comfortable and the owners friendly. Just right for our stay. We'll book again.
