We spent five nights in this condominium, booked through Airbnb with Coastal Vacations. My brother and sister-in-law had a good stay at another one of their condos the year before, so we expected this to go well. The area is beautiful, but we won’t come back. The hurricane disrupting our vacation was bad enough; the rest of the stay left three women and two children feeling unsafe and confined, especially when the weather kept us indoors. We were harassed and stalked, and the company never responded when I raised the issue. A man watched us throughout the week and seemed to come outside every time we did. People complained about us spending time on the balcony, and there were threats about smoke smells. We even stood across the street to smoke, but he came out and stared at us. My wife and I also sat in the designated smoking area, where he pulled his car into the nearby parking spot and stayed until we left, then drove away as soon as we walked off. We didn’t feel comfortable going outside or sitting on the balcony. There were other problems with the condo, too. There were no cameras in the garage, stairways, or hallways. The stove didn’t work properly, and the oven took twice as long to heat or cook anything. Both bedroom windows faced a pitch-black, creepy hallway. The listing said toilet paper and paper towels were included, but neither was provided. I can’t recommend staying in this building when the experience could mean being confined to a small space in bad weather or feeling harassed throughout your visit. The stress and discomfort weren’t worth it.
