The pool view from our room was okay, but my friends looked straight at another building and couldn’t see the ocean at all. The ocean view seems to depend on which room you get, so paying extra for a beach view might not get you one. The location is great, and Crystal Beach looked nice from the outside, but the stay left me underwhelmed. There was a strong musty smell as soon as we walked in, so I had to open the sliding door to air the room out. It looked decent at first and the beds were neatly made, but it never felt fully clean. The room door looked scratched and damaged and didn’t seem to close properly, which made maintenance feel like an afterthought. Our keys quit working three separate times, and we had to go back to the desk for new ones. That was frustrating while we were trying to enjoy our vacation. The front desk staff weren’t exactly rude, but they mostly mumbled, so it was hard to understand them or get clear answers. With the smell, cleanliness, key trouble, door, and views, I wouldn’t rush back.

The woman who checked us in was great, and the property could be really nice, but it needs serious care. The lobby was the only area without a bad smell. The bathroom wasn’t filthy, but it wasn’t clean either. Rusty fixtures, backed-up drains, a shower head only 5 feet high, and tiny towels made things worse. The A/C barely worked in either the first or second room.

The night shift front desk worker was incredibly unhelpful when our TV wouldn’t work. We called six times asking for instructions or help, and each time she just said “ok” and hung up. When I finally walked to the lobby and explained the problem, she told me, “the tv works there’s nothing else i can tell you.” I wouldn’t spend money somewhere that can’t give basic instructions because they’re too lazy to walk to the other part of the hotel. The service was disgusting and completely unprofessional. Get better. Don’t bother calling corporate either, they’re just as useless.

We had a room overlooking the boardwalk and beach, and the sunrise was incredible. There were lots of beautiful classic cars around, too. Mr. Jeff at the desk was very kind and acknowledged me. I had a wonderful time at Crystal Beach this past weekend and will return. Thank you!

We were there in July 2025, and being near the beach and boardwalk didn't make up for the condition of the hotel. The room smelled musty and felt damp, the linens weren't clean, and the bathroom was disgusting. The photos may look great, but the place itself was a dump. Take the poor reviews seriously.
