Shorebirds Villas

It felt like walking into medieval times, with lovely decor, and the villa was wonderfully quiet. We had the place to ourselves and could text or call the owners if we needed anything; they were very helpful. They decorated my daughter's room with golden balloons for her 29th Golden Birthday, and she loved the surprise. We felt safe, had lots of towels, and the beds were very comfortable. The location is great, about five minutes from the ocean, or walkable if you prefer. The only downside was the spiders, though thankfully they stayed outside. We had a fantastic time. Such a hidden gem in Ocean Shores!

When the tub wouldn't hold water for a bath, management brought over a stopper, even though it was late and the day before Thanksgiving. That saved our kid's bath time. We stayed in the Viking villa over Thanksgiving in 2021, and found the one-bedroom cabin clean and comfortable, with supplies handy for cleaning up after beach trips. There was a queen bed in the bedroom, a smaller-than-twin bed in the open loft reading nook, and a pullout couch downstairs. The tasteful art and decor were great, and our child especially enjoyed the plastic sword and axe. The family had a blast with the Viking ship tabletop games. The kitchen had enough for us to bake Thanksgiving dinner from scratch, apart from a couple of utensils we picked up at IGA. We'd stay again and recommend it. We also had a similarly good stay in the two-bedroom medieval cabin.

Michael and Mandy, the caretakers, were so kind and helpful, and I really enjoyed chatting with them. The villas have more room inside than you'd expect, especially for two, and the area is quiet, a short walk from town and a bit farther from beach access. I love the different themes and their decor. We stayed in the Egyptian villa for our honeymoon in July 2019, then came back for our first anniversary in July 2020 and had the Hawaiian one. The upstairs had a bit of an old-house smell, but opening the windows and using room spray helped. I mentioned to Michael that a few more hooks for clothes, especially in the bathroom and perhaps by the front sliding doors, would be useful.

The Hawaiian villa was a really fun place to stay, cute and especially good for kids. The owners were friendly and quick to help when I needed to get a lost item back. Thanks for everything!
