Holiday Inn Oceanside Camp Pendleton Area by IHG

We needed two rooms for one night, and the staff were very courteous. We asked for a late checkout and got one. The rooms were clean, if a bit dated, and the bathroom was spotless. The air conditioning worked really well and quietly. It was a ten-minute walk to the Harbour, where we went to Jack's Crab Shack for the best Margaritas I've ever had. My daughter tried crab in the shell for the first time and learned to use nut crackers, but got sauce all over herself, broke a fingernail, and hurt her thumb. She won't eat crab that way again. That part had nothing to do with the Holiday Inn.

The staff were nice, parking was free as of Sept. 2025, and it's close to the fun stuff. Breakfast is available, but it's not free. The building is noisy, and you can easily hear through the floors and walls. That's not the staff's fault, but it must have been built before today's required STC ratings. It's a little outdated and could use some interior work: roughed-up patchy carpet tile, old hair dryers, scuffed walls, and what looks like a broken soap dish in the shower. The place has clearly been loved. The cleaning crew is doing their job, the AC works like a charm, and even with the rough edges it's not terrible. It's also within easy distance of things to do.

We love this location, with Camp Pendleton nearby and a nice walk to the harbour, restaurants, or Main Street. The service is good. Rooms should be getting an update soon.

Carlos was awesome, and the room was great. The pool and Jacuzi were amazing. You can walk to the beach and Dennys.
