Candlewood Suites Odessa by IHG

We stayed for a month and a half and would definitely come back. Our room on the third floor was very quiet, clean, and well kept by housekeeping. Every staff member was kind and courteous, and they went out of their way to help with whatever we needed. The hospitality was great, and it's a good hotel if you're traveling for business.

At 9:30 on a Tuesday in Midland, Texas, I was left without a room, with every place sold out. I had reserved three nights, but the hotel told me they'd given my room away because my corporate card wouldn't go through and I hadn't checked in by 6 p.m. They said they tried calling several times, which wasn't true. I was on a flight from 5:30 to 8, and as soon as I landed I saw my travel agent's email asking me to call the hotel about the card. I called right away, only to learn they were sold out. The protocol they followed was bad enough, and then the night desk manager hung up on me. I've never had such an unprofessional experience, and they won't get my business again.

The property felt dirty and poorly maintained, with beer cans and cigarette butts scattered around. Although it's listed as pet-friendly, there wasn't a clean, safe place for dogs to go. The available spots were full of stickers and burrs, and the pet fee was horrible. The manager was rude and unprofessional.

We stayed about a month ago, and the room was clean and comfortable, with a soft bed. I also loved the lobby cabinet of games and kitchen items guests could use. What I won't forget is how kind the staff were when I had a virtual job interview on checkout day. I was nervous before and after, and they cheered me on even though they didn't know me. They made me feel so much better as my husband and I were leaving. Thank you to Roberto and everyone else. It meant a lot, and I got the job! The rooms, beds, and customer service were all great.
