Days Inn Ogden

The spacious breakfast room and roomy bathroom were nice, and the bed was comfortable. We also liked the large pool and hot tub, and the hotel has a refreshed look while keeping some of its older charm. Those windowed hallways seem to have been added later, which I found interesting. For the price, we had a good stay. The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the desk staff were friendly. We overheard other guests complaining while we checked in, but the attendants were working hard to help them. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed the place and would stay again.

The place was under construction, but we hadn’t been told, and the pool wasn’t available. Our assigned room wasn’t even the one we booked, and it smelled of paint and urine. I complained when we arrived and nobody addressed it, so I called to escalate the complaint. The manager then said I was rude. The photos were misleading, and there wasn’t even water available. The only fountain was broken. Unless the pool is open, I can’t see a reason to spend money here. Even then, there are better places with nicer staff and a good pool. I’d avoid it.

The lobby looked lovely, but the floor near the rooms felt like a completely different hotel. Both the hallway and our room smelled strongly of cigarettes. The indoor pool was out of order, which was disappointing. The hotel needs updating. Since the no-smoking rules aren’t being followed, they should have separate smoking and non-smoking sections. Management was respectful, and I liked having the option to pay the security deposit in cash or by card, but I’m not sure I’d return.

The customer service was friendly, and there’s plenty of parking with security cameras all over. Breakfast was standard, though the pool won’t be available for a while because the hotel is in heavy renovation. It’s an odd place right now with work going on. The glass hallway walls are the strangest part. The bedrooms are nice, but the bathrooms are tiny and seem to be under renovation too. The ceiling material doesn’t seem suited for a bathroom.
