The Inn at Gran View Ogdensburg, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The staff were welcoming and friendly every time we ran into them, and that really made the resort stand out. The seating spot by the St. Lawrence River was lovely, and we spent time there more than once. Our room was clean and nice, though a bit worn. Breakfast was included at the restaurant. The setup felt odd, but the food was the usual motel spread, with eggs, toast, waffles, yogurt, cereal, meat, and potatoes. Those staff members deserve a raise for their great attitudes.

We were two bikers from Alaska looking for shelter from the rain in late October. After a couple of nights, we'd gotten our laundry done and used the exercise room too. The room left us pleasantly satisfied.

The pool was great, and there were kayaks, fire pits, lots of room, and a lovely view. The location was nice, the rooms were okay, and the continental breakfast was pretty standard. Check-in was a bit tricky. They may add a $100 incidental hold to the amount you pay, so keep an eye on your cards.

The view of the St. Lawrence River was amazing, though the pool was closed for the season during our two-night stay in April 2025. The two young women at the front desk were very nice and helpful when we arrived. Local family members had spoken well of The Inn at Gran View, but the room itself was only average, even though it was clean. The bathroom didn't match the photos on the site. It had a drop ceiling, a shower head that was too low, slow drainage, and a toilet seat that wouldn't stay up. The toilet clogged, so we had to ask for a plunger and clear it ourselves. I heard the restaurant was good, but it was closed on the Monday night I needed it. The simple, self-serve complimentary breakfast was appreciated. At about $200 a night, though, it felt extremely overpriced. It wasn't the worst place I've stayed, but I wouldn't pay that rate again.
