Windjammer Lodge

I've stayed at the Windjammer Lodge many times over the years and have never been disappointed. It's a peaceful spot with incredible scenery, large clean rooms, and affordable rates compared with other lodges I've tried. You can grill, use the outdoor pool, fire pit, and picnic area, or just stretch out in a lounge chair by the St. Lawrence River and watch the big freighter go by. The sunsets and stars are lovely too. The 1000 islands near Alexandria Bay are only a half-hour drive away, and staying here is much cheaper and more peaceful than staying in Alexandria Bay. I strongly recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

The staff were helpful and welcoming, and the room was cozy, clean, and had everything I needed. I was there for graduation, and the view was amazing. It's dog-friendly if you travel with pets. I can only imagine the warmer months, when the pool is open and there are water activities.

It's a pretty rustic hotel with some age to it, and I thought the price was a little high for this kind of room. Still, the room was clean, the AC was cold, the water was hot, and the staff were very nice. The breakfast was great. The AC was very loud.

The grounds are lovely, with lush green lawns stretching along the St. Lawrence River and plenty of comfortable Adirondack chairs. Our room was spacious, really clean, and cozy. After a long day of travel, the beds were perfect, and the bathtub and shower seemed brand new and worked great. The Windjammer Lodge has that old-school charm, and it's a lovely place for family fun.
