We spent three days here for our anniversary and had perfect weather to explore the area, so we weren't at The Black Boar for much of the time. When we were there, it was great: the room and bed were comfortable, and the inn was incredibly charming. The town is gorgeous, and we have nothing negative to say. Just know that breakfast is continental, which didn't bother us at all. The inn is right in town, with shops, a lovely little bakery, the beach, restaurants, and bars all within walking distance. It's at the outer edge of town, though, so it stays nice and quiet. We'd definitely recommend The Black Boar.

Claudine welcomed us when we arrived for our honeymoon getaway weekend. She suggested wonderful places for dinner and showed us where to find the Lesa Lynn room. It's a gem, set apart on the outside of the main house with its own entrance. The room was clean, sanitized, and lovely. Since we were there off season, we could also have chosen a room inside the house, but we stayed in our original room with the separate entrance. Breakfast was good, with a nice range of danish, scones, apple turnovers, bagels, cold cereal, yogurt, cereal bars, granola bars, and fresh fruit. There was hot coffee and juice, plus a variety of hot tea bags available any time. In the evenings, Claudine offered to light a fire in the hearth in the main living room. The home has wonderful history and is well kept, right on the main strip in downtown Ogunquit, a pleasant walk from the beach, restaurants, and shops. This was our first stay at an air bnb, and we loved the personal attention and atmosphere. It was a treasured, excellent two-night stay, very much worth trying. We'll gladly return and hope to see lovely, sweet, smiling Claudine again.

The walk into Ogunquit for shops, the beach, and the Marginal Way was easy, and we had a lovely place to unwind afterward. We came with another couple and were given rooms opposite each other, which worked out nicely. Both rooms were roomy, with hardwood floors, period furnishings, chairs, and decorative fireplaces that don’t work. The tiled showers and modern bathrooms were very nice. Our hostess was so welcoming and accommodating, and breakfast had fresh fruit, muffins, danish, and delicious homemade banana bread. We also enjoyed relaxing with wine in the sitting room and on the front porch. A great little getaway.

The Lesa Lynn room at the back was wonderfully quiet and private, and it had its own little outdoor sitting area. There are bigger rooms facing the street if you’d rather be near the front. The old house and garden have lots of charm, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. We had a lovely three-day stay, with the beach, shops, and restaurants just a short walk away.

We really liked how close everything was, with the beach, shops, and restaurants an easy walk away. We stayed September 11-15 2021 and had a clean, comfortable room with a queen bed. The shower was spacious and the water pressure was good. Staff were friendly, as were the people we chatted with over breakfast each morning.
