Chantico Inn

We only stayed one night, but as soon as we arrived my girlfriend and I wished we could extend it. The place was lovely, clean, and reasonably priced for the area, with a charming, thoughtfully designed look that made me want to get up early just to enjoy it longer. Karina, I hope I’ve got the spelling right, was excellent: warm and genuine when she greeted us, with our registration paperwork ready, and happy to chat and answer all our questions about the hotel and area. We’ll definitely come back, and I hope they keep doing what they’re doing.

I’ve visited this cute indoor-outdoor hotel several times, but this last stay was a real disappointment. It’s looking more run-down, and the first room they gave me didn’t seem to have fresh sheets, smelled bad, and didn’t look clean. They moved me to another room, which smelled better, but it was very dark. The sink was falling apart, and everything needs updating. I wouldn’t stay again unless they renovate.

The pool and jacuzzi are beautiful, and the rooms were clean, nice, and decorated with antiques. It’s a very cute inn, close enough to walk to the downtown shops and restaurants. Parker at the front desk was welcoming and gave us some good dining suggestions. I’d happily stay again. If you choose this place, you won’t be disappointed.

The rooms have so much charm, character, and quirk, including a lovely stained-glass window in each one. Out front there’s a cute little porch with Spanish tiles, and you can shut the iron gate or leave it open for guests to join you. The quirky part is the huge whirlpool tub where you’d expect a closet. The staff were friendly, helpful, and full of information about this lovely town and all it has to offer. Just charming!
