I ordered room service from Bodega's one morning, and it was absolutely fabulous. The hotel has a fun, different feel, with cool art throughout. It was so clean and quiet that I almost felt like I was staying in a museum. I was there during Christmas and got to see the gorgeous decorations. The staff were kind and helpful, and my large, comfortable room felt like my own loft, just right for a quick solo reset. I’ll choose this place again.
I love Hyatt and usually choose it for work trips because they get a lot right. The room was adorable, and the gift store was cute too. The whole property feels carefully curated, right down to the faucet handles and room decor. The amenities and room service were great, and I liked having a sauna and steam room with bathrobes and slippers. They replenished everything well. I loved the throw blanket and asked where I could buy one; they took my info but never got back to me during my last three days there. The service was the part that disappointed me. Some days the bathroom had been cleaned but the bed wasn’t made, which left me unsure. The staff were pleasant enough, but not very eager to help, which felt like what I’d expect at a 3 star hotel. The room was quite dark at night, and since I was on the 2nd floor, it was hard to get enough light for very early video calls. The breakfast cafe in the lobby wasn’t crowded, maybe two or three other customers, but the employees didn’t seem happy to help. I had to order breakfast to go before work, and it took about 15 minutes on average, even for avocado toast. The food seemed a bit overpriced, though the lattes and Matcha drinks were wonderful. I mostly tried breakfast. I’ve also stayed at the Omni in OKC, and I liked that visit a little more because I didn’t feel like I was interrupting the staff’s day, even though I tried to be polite. I understand from working in service that dealing with people can be hard, and I’m not trying to be difficult, but about 80% of my interactions with the front desk, valet, and breakfast restaurant over four nights left me feeling that my business wasn’t valued or that the employees didn’t want to be there. The valet staff were nice, but there was a night-and-day difference with Omni, whose valet service was outstanding, and I tipped accordingly. There’s a public garage close by across the street, so valet isn’t necessary. One day it was full because of a nearby concert, though, and the power went out the next day, which was creepy. I was really impressed by the rooms and expected more from a hotel with this claimed prestige, so I’m disappointed in the service. I wish I’d seen the housekeeping staff to thank them, but I was usually out from 8 AM to 8 PM. I wanted to give it five stars, and I’m not sure if anyone else would feel the same, but I tried to be objective. I’d consider giving it another chance, though if service stays this way, I’d probably take my business elsewhere.
What made the stay especially unpleasant was finding dried blood on a curtain in my room, 321. It was disgusting, and after that I worried about the cleanliness of the whole space. I was afraid to touch much in the room and couldn’t relax for the rest of my stay. Housekeeping should never have missed something that felt like a serious health concern. I also had no hot running water for my entire 24-hour stay at the Fordson Hotel while passing through OKC. I couldn’t take a proper shower and had to wash at the sink. For one of Oklahoma City’s most expensive hotels, that’s unacceptable. The empty, desolate hallways also made me uneasy as a solo female traveler, since I didn’t feel entirely safe with so few people around. Staff were friendly enough, though not especially warm or accommodating, and I have no personal complaint about how they treated me. I expected much better cleanliness, maintenance, and comfort for the price and reputation. This fell far below expectations. I hardly ever write reviews, but felt I had to share this one.
This was my second stay, and the hotel is a unique, comfortable place for adults or couples. It’s in a converted old Ford Factory, with a modern industrial feel and a small art gallery. The rooms were very clean, though I wasn’t fond of the design. There’s an Italian restaurant, pool, mini bar, and a coffee shop with pastries and a few breakfast options. My two breakfasts there were very average. Staff were friendly overall, and the location is good, just steps from Jones Assembly, a big venue for food, drinks, and concerts. I asked for a Hyatt Globalist suite upgrade and was told the hotel was sold out. During my 2.5 days there, I never saw more than 10 people at once, so I wondered if it really was sold out. Valet parking is available, as is a self-parking garage next door, but the valet was hit or miss about being there when I needed them. I’m not sure this is a great pick for families with young kids.
Mary Eddy’s bar was enjoyable, and breakfast at the Bodego was quick and delicious. We had a great time at this spacious, unusual hotel, except for the loud music from Jones Assembly between 10:30-1:30 am. Other guests complained too, and the desk clerk apologized. It may be worth checking Jones’ concert schedule or requesting a room on the hotel’s opposite side.
