Howard Johnson by Wyndham Oklahoma City Airport/ Fairgrounds

The woman at check-in was really nice, but my refund for the unused night still hasn't come through. We paid for two nights and left after one. On arrival, a drunk man came out and threw up in the bushes. Our non-smoking floor smelled of weed, and there were lots of vagrants and hookers hanging around outside. The person in the next room played loud rock music all night, too. I'll never stay there again. The hotel next door is nicer.

The slow internet is what stopped this from being five stars. In the room I got just 2 Mbps up and down, far too slow to use, especially in a home office suite where you'd expect to get work done. Still, for what I paid, about $47 before tax and $55 after, the place is hard to beat. I stayed one night in the home office suite and was surprised by how nice it was for that price. I'm used to old, run-down places at that rate. The room and bathroom were clean, the sheets and towels were soft and clean, and the furniture was well cared for. The bathroom fan rattled, but I just turned it off.

The photos on the site looked nothing like the hotel we found. We booked, went to see the room, and checked out almost immediately. There were burn holes in the bed blankets, and the room's sliding glass door wouldn't lock. Cars were up on jacks in the parking lot. They also kept our incidental deposit. As we were leaving, I saw a guy walking through the kitchen with a dog. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

Staff were very kind, but we lasted only about four hours before leaving and booking somewhere else. We'd paid for two nights. The hallway and our non-smoking room smelled like decades of smoke, mixed with a vomit smell coming from the carpets. The pictures made it look nice and clean, so I thought we'd found a good deal. If saving money is absolutely necessary, maybe. But if you can afford it and don't want to feel gross, stay somewhere else.
