La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham OKC North - Quail Springs

The breakfast was a 10/10, plentiful and tasty, even the eggs. It was quiet and clean, with no hotel smell, and the pool was a good size for a dip without being crowded. My girl and her friend had it to themselves while I soaked in the room’s jacuzzi tub. We had a couple of hiccups with two rooms, but the staff never got upset. They fixed the issue and went well beyond what we expected. I explained why my 13 y/o and I were staying, and they really understood what we needed.

The beds were comfortable, the water pressure was good, and the hotel seemed to be in a good area. We had no location problems. The place looked clean and had been renovated, with fresh paint and a newer mirror and vanity in the bathroom. But the shower caulking had gaps and the handle leaked. There were black spots on the smoke detector, which looked possibly moldy. I assume removing the carpet during renovation left gaps beneath the doors, because ours sat at least half an inch above the floor, and the hallway doors looked the same. There’s no soundproofing. We could hear people in their rooms and everything outside. We were on the top floor, so I can’t say what noise from an upstairs room is like. If you’re a light sleeper, that could be a real problem. I couldn’t tell whether the main cause was the high door gaps or the thin walls.

The room was spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Service was excellent, the price was a great value, and there’s a fitness room and hot breakfast. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, the AC is quiet, and coffee is available in the lobby. It’s a long way from downtown OKC, though.

The only real issue was the heat and AC unit. When it cycled on, it was so loud I had to turn up the TV to hear it. Otherwise, the rooms were clean and all the appliances worked as expected. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the area seemed safe. We stayed the night before my neck surgery at Oklahoma Spine Hospital, just 1.4 miles away, so the location was very convenient. Nice accommodations, and I’d book again if I have another surgery.
