Motel 6 Oklahoma City, OK - Airport East

The room itself was decently clean, but during our five-night stay it was cleaned and the towels changed only once, after the first night. The shower had almost no pressure, the temperature kept changing, and its broken curtain rod left the curtain hanging so water spilled onto the floor. My daughter slipped and fell there one night. The property says it’s non-smoking, but ashtrays were in the rooms and several rooms smelled of cigarettes and weed. There were also aggressive feral cats around the property, apparently fed by residents who left cat food on the sidewalks. They came at us as we walked to our vehicle and twice went after our dogs. At least four pit bull or bully breed dogs and two rat terrier mixes also seemed to live there long term. Some were aggressive or out of control; one owner couldn’t manage an aggressive dog on a leash, and two dogs were allowed to roam loose without supervision. I felt the place was dangerous because of this. Getting help was a problem too. No one was at the desk when I arrived, and repeated calls to the posted number got only a busy signal. I went to dinner and caught someone entering the lobby when I returned. Guests couldn’t get into the lobby, even though it had coffee pots and tables. Our key stopped working every day, so I had to call for help again because the desk was empty. Staff repeatedly snapped at me and blamed me for keeping the key near my phone. It wasn’t: I held the key in one hand and my phone in the other, and it was never closer to the phone. I don’t expect much from a Motel 6, but I do expect working amenities, a safe property, and staff who don’t blame guests for everything.
