Spark by Hilton Mystic Groton

The breakfast bagel bar had lots to choose from, and the whole stay was comfortable. The hotel and room were clean, and the staff were kind and friendly. I enjoyed it so much that I'd definitely book here again if I'm back in the area.

The rooms were clean, cute, and had what we needed, with updated furnishings. The in-room fridges could be used normally, which was nice, and I saw a guest staying with a dog one night. Staff were friendly and available when we needed help. The breakfast room was cute and had a light breakfast. We were here for a few days for a wedding, and it cost less than some other places in Mystic. The hotel is close to downtown Mystic, with easy options to drive or get an Uber, and cheaper food nearby. It has more of a motel feel. Some reviews seemed disappointed that it wasn't the usual Hilton experience, so set your expectations accordingly. It's a straightforward hotel, not a big five-star property.

The price was good, the location worked, and the people were nice. But getting a decent night's sleep was another matter. Long before 5 a.m., I woke up to doors slamming over and over. It sounded like at least twelve doors, likely guests being inconsiderate and figuring that if they had to get up for work, everyone else should too. Don't count on a quiet night.

The location worked well for Mystic Aquarium, the Seaport, and the village, and the price felt right for an older but updated hotel. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was fine, mostly bagels and cereal along with coffee, tea, and juice, and the breakfast staff were friendly too. I stayed with one other adult and two kids, and would come back.
