Kebek 3 Oceanside Motel

The beach is easy to get to, and the view was great. The front desk staff were friendly and helped when I asked about the lights and toilet. A breaker had tripped, so the kitchen area and bathroom lights were out at first. The toilet was fussy too: I had to hold the handle just right to get it to flush. The room was clean and partly updated, though some areas still need major work. There was a kitchenette, but we never used it. I liked being near the beach, bars, and restaurants, but I'm not sure I'd stay here again.

The beach was lovely, but we couldn't stay because of the health and safety problems. At least they didn't fight us over the refund. The place was seriously gross and didn't seem worth the price, even with the beach nearby. Our first room had a large patch of old urine stains on the wall beside the toilet, and it smelled. The kitchen table was broken and wobbly, and pinched my daughter's finger. The stairs to the second floor were very rickety. When I opened the heavy door, its metal screen section fell on me. Staff tried to help and offered us two other rooms, but both had several water damage stains and a strong mold odor. We stayed about 20 minutes in the second room and all of us felt sick. When we went outside, my hair reeked of mold. We were shown rooms 63, 56, and 69. The walls felt like those in a mobile home, and the ceiling had drop-down tiles. The tiles I saw were old, discolored, and stained, though the website photos show them clean and bright white. The room photos are clearly enhanced. To the owners: when Expedia asked for additional compensation, you denied it. We had to scramble for new accommodations after 10pm with two special needs kids, change cities, and spend a lot more money. You didn't seem terribly concerned about that.

The views are beautiful from both the front and back, and it's a quiet spot without much traffic. I had a great first trip to OOB and loved it! The rooms were nice and clean. The tile floors were really dirty, though, and the shower drain was bad until staff fixed it. Everyone working there was sweet, kind, and helpful. On one bed, we kept banging our toes on a bar or something, so maybe move it, lol. Thanks to the staff. I loved this trip and who knows, maybe I'll see you soon! ❤️

The view was great, and the beach is just a short walk away. I could've used more hooks and counter space in the bedroom. The people I stayed with said the hotel dates back to the 60s, which I found interesting.
