Hampton Inn Olive Branch

The AC filter in my room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and the tiled part of the floor was very dirty. I reported both to the front desk and was told housekeeping would deep clean the room. When I came back the next night, the floor still didn’t look cleaned at all. They had also left a trash bag on the desk, touching the coffee maker and cups. This level of cleanliness is unacceptable for a Hilton.

Update 5/2/26: It’s still a nice place to stay. My room was properly cleaned, it smelled better, and the bathroom dispensers had enough soap and everything else. Breakfast was decent, though the egg and cheese bagel things were just meh. I’d rather have regular scrambled eggs. Jennifer is still the star. We arrived before check-in and she graciously found us an available room. She’s a true gem. On my earlier stay, the first room had trash in it and a broken TV, but switching rooms was no problem. The second room was clean and comfortable. The AC was annoyingly loud, so I had to turn it off to sleep, and the sheets were scratchy. Breakfast was good then, too. Jennifer handled the room change, gave me a great dinner recommendation, and was sweet and very willing to help.

The area was quiet and seemed safe, and there was an above-average Mexican restaurant a short walk away. We were passing through overnight on the way to Muskogee, and getting between I-22/78 and I-55 was easy. Our king suite was clean, the bed was OK, and breakfast was good in a very nice dining area. The pillows went flat, though. I also appreciated the adult-height commode in the suite. My old knees were grateful.

The lobby and hallways felt cold, like the heat wasn’t on, and the breakfast room seemed grimy and neglected. The food itself was standard. That was a letdown beside the guest room, which was clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. If all you need is a clean place to sleep, the room works perfectly.
