At nearly $200 a night, this wasn’t worth it for us. The room had a dog smell on the bed, couch, and chairs, and the bedroom AC rattled all night and only went down to 69 degrees even though it was over 80 outside. The number of work trucks and guys hanging around in them felt unsettling. I wouldn’t recommend it for a family.

Getting room keys that actually worked took three trips back to the desk. Later, someone tried to enter our room because their system apparently said we weren’t checked in or paid, even though we had receipts. At check-in, the clerk told us they were oversold despite our confirmed booking for a king and two queens. They only had king rooms, so they offered one with a pullout sofa, but that room didn’t have a sofa bed after all. Just insane. I’ve crossed this hotel off my list.

The ACs didn’t cool the room, and the parking lot was packed with utility trucks parked in the way, making it hard for cars to get around. The room smelled like a dog, including the bed and furniture, and the hallway had a smoky smell. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a family. What happened to Holiday Inn?

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and we both slept well. The desk clerk’s welcome was the problem. We arrived at 3:30 am after our flight from Dallas, originally due in at 11:00 pm, was delayed several times and we had to get off one plane and board another. We had booked the Holiday Inn Express while waiting at the Dallas airport. The clerk didn’t greet us or ask if she could help. When my husband said we had a reservation, she looked disgusted and said, “we didn’t know if you were coming.” After that exhausting trip, we didn’t need the rudeness or lack of compassion. Without that interaction, I’d have rated the stay much higher.
