The tea room had a nice feel, and the hotel itself looked good. The tea was tasty and the food was decent, though the price felt high for what we got. Parking was a lucky break for us because construction meant we found a spot across the street. Otherwise, it would have been valet parking. There was just one server covering the room. She wasn't rude, but she was clearly busy and seemed to be rushing between people. Since this was our first afternoon tea, we would've liked a little more interaction and guidance.

We booked a New Year's staycation through the Chase travel app using The Edit benefits. The hotel is a beautiful property in a great location, with two restaurants, bars, a pool, and a nicely decorated room. We appreciated the bar credit and the $50 breakfast credit per room. It's pet-friendly too, and the bar drinks were great. We did get an upgrade, but it wasn't what we'd expected compared with other properties offering The Edit benefits, especially since we're also IHG platinum members. There was no complimentary water, just a $5 bottle in the room, and no coffee or tea. The TV didn't work. We called, waited about an hour, then called again and gave up so we could get on with our day. The bathroom exhaust fan was broken, and the room was dusty. Valet parking is $35 a day, though free street parking is available nearby.

Update: They called and found my jacket. Thank you! My wife and I both remember her hanging her nice winter coat in the room closet, so it was upsetting when we couldn't find it after we left. We noticed that day or the next and called the hotel. At first, they didn't return calls or check who had cleaned the room, the one person who could have known whether it was still there. I didn't believe they had really looked, especially since other hotels have confirmed lost items and even mailed them back when I covered the shipping. After all that disappointment, they called and located the coat.

The venue's views were great, and its history made it interesting. The bartender was amazing, though the food felt average for the price. If you're going to a catered event, expect to pay $75 per plate and still need to stop somewhere afterward if you want to feel full. Valet parking was a disaster.
