Best Western Inn & Suites

It's an older hotel but pretty well maintained. There's no elevator, and our room was small. The bed was much too soft and bouncy, so it was hard to sleep when my partner moved or got in and out. Breakfast was adequate, though the breakfast room is small. There's a pool but no fitness room.

Parking was plentiful, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was what I expected. The front desk had some trouble processing my credit card and seemed confused.

My husband and I have stayed at several Best Westerns, including this one, and this was our first awful experience. He's handicapped, so we booked an accessible room. After a long drive we just wanted to sleep, but the room was stuffy and hot enough to take my breath away. The AC wouldn't start, and the front desk said they were completely sold out and could only bring a fan. I thought about opening the window, but we were on the ground floor and it didn't feel safe. There was also dog poop all over the rocks below the window, and I didn't want to smell that all night. The AC came on briefly while we were trying to settle in, which got my hopes up, but it shut off again after about 20 minutes. The fan arrived, but the room stayed so hot we barely slept. The table lamp by the window flickered and was unusable. It took us almost an hour to figure out the TV, and we weren't going to sign into our own Google account just to watch something before bed. When we were packing to leave, my husband showered, but the shower head was broken and didn't work properly. Then, as we carried our things to the car, the AC came back on for a little while.

The towels were excellent, and the shower amenities were clean, nicely presented, and very good. The hallways had a pleasant, subtle scent. I'm sensitive to strong, annoying smells, so I appreciated that.
