Best Western Auburn/Opelika Inn

We were near EAMC hospital, which was convenient for our family. Check-in late at night went smoothly. Our spacious room was beside the building’s entrance and stairwell, so there was a lot of noise late into the morning. Luckily I fell asleep and was fine. The bathroom was a bit tight, but did the job.

The night clerk was so cheerful and friendly that he made me want to stay. The property could use some tender loving care and upgrades, though. I was especially bothered by having to clean the bathroom floor myself. There was water on it, and I may have twisted my ankle a little. When I wiped it up with a towel, the floor came up filthy, which made me wonder how clean the bed really was.

The rooms barely meet a standard level, so the advertising felt misleading. Cable is actually streaming, and even the staff didn’t seem to know how it works. It feels like a mom-and-pop place. I haven’t tried breakfast yet, so wish me luck.

ViJay was friendly every time he saw me and even helped carry my things to my room door. Ricky was easygoing and friendly too. The hotel was nice overall, with clean rooms, a large screen TV, a pool, and a gym. Breakfast was filling, and I’d recommend staying here when traveling. Thanks for making my time away from home easier. Best wishes, Room 128.
