Studio 6 Opelika, AL - Auburn Al

We ended up packing and driving through the night to get home instead of staying. My 30 lb daughter put her head on the pillow and said, “I can feel the wall behind my pillow.” The room felt like a jail cell, with nasty tile floors, bare walls, and a big concrete-square feel. The AC was louder than the loudest setting on my sound machine. I asked for more pillows and a blanket; he said they had no more pillows and would “look for a blanket.” There were other issues too, and the whole experience was horrible. Avoid this place at all cost. I can't see what the positive reviews are based on. I'd booked at the last minute after a football game because we didn't want to drive home. No one was in the lobby, so I waited about 10 minutes and called before someone came with my key. He was nice, which was one positive. He said the room had just been “renovated” and didn't have a microwave or fridge yet. I said that was fine since we didn't need them. I did try multiple times to reach the manager, but she never called back. I had accepted a discounted rate because of the missing appliances, but those were the least of the problems.

Ayana made my stay at Studio 6 a great one. She's the best housekeeper, attentive, does an excellent job, and makes sure you have what you need even when the room isn't assigned to her that day. She smiles and greets you at the door and in the hallway, which makes a big difference. She does her best to speak and understand English, and she's a sweetheart. Clean rooms and fresh towels daily, with full service on request. The office staff are wonderful too. Great service, a good spot for food and shopping, and a great location.

Everything we needed was nearby, from food to shopping. It was a great stay.

We managed to make it work because it was home game weekend and there wasn't another place to go. The front desk clerks and maid were nice, and the location wasn't too bad. But the whole property smells, including a stairwell that smelled like urine. Hallway and stairwell carpets were stained and nasty, the sheets and chairs in the room were worn out, and it wasn't very clean. Everything felt rundown and worn out. This hotel needs to be torn down and rebuilt.
