Holiday Inn Express & Suites Opelousas by IHG

We were staying here while setting up hospice for my dad, and Syriah's energy gave us a lot of comfort. She was wonderful with our son, who adored her. We prayed for strength and comfort, and that's what this stay gave us. It felt like a welcome break that recharged us. Syriah really makes this hotel, please give her a raise and promotion! There was so much we didn't get to use, like the great gym and computers, but it felt like a home away from home. The location was handy too, close to the hospital, shops, restaurants, and just about anything you'd need. The hotel is clean and updated, and our room was phenomenal. Housekeeping was great. The Keurig was fully stocked, the full-size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, and hand soap were good quality, and the towels were big and plush. The beds were comfortable, and we could set the room to whatever temperature we liked. The indoor pool was clean and cool, with the room kept warm and towels stocked. I've stayed at dozens of hotels and never seen a breakfast like this, fresh and amazing, with all sorts of hot and cold choices. After reading some reviews, it seems someone has been paying attention to complaints and addressing them. Worth every penny!

The room was welcoming and very clean, and the thermostat kept things comfortable throughout our stay. On arrival, the hotel itself was clean, and the front desk staff member helped get me into my room a little before my reservation time, which I appreciated. Breakfast had plenty of good options. I'll definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

We had a great time at the family reunion, especially in the pool. When we asked Syriah at the front desk to take a picture, she got the kids laughing so we could get a great shot, then kept engaging with them in such a kind, genuine way. Her friendly energy made the reunion even more memorable. She's a real asset to the team. Great place to stay!

I've stayed here a lot of nights and love the amenities. The pool is huge, the gym is decent, and breakfast is consistently good with a nice spread. Staff are very accommodating, and the housekeepers are courteous, personable, and always seem willing to help. There's a Mexican restaurant next door, so you don't have to walk far, and a main strip of just about any restaurant you could want is around the corner. A perfect overnight stop before driving to baton rouge or new Orleans.
