Such a quaint, peaceful place, clean and comfortable. We had what we needed to rest and spend time together, and it's close to Blue Springs and Cassadaga, the two stops we wanted on our Florida tour. We'll definitely stay again!

The Victorian Cottage was exactly what I wanted for myself and my Pet Companion Max. It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and so charmingly decorated, with everything easy to reach. The house and its cottages share their history and current plans with guests. I highly recommend this peaceful, creative BnB for its creativity and connection with nature.

The Victorian Cottage is now our favorite place to stay around here. We were visiting Blue Springs National Park, and loved the decor, all the accommodations, and that incredible tub. I'd give it more stars if I could.

A cold snap sent us looking at the last minute for somewhere near Blue Springs to see the manatees, whose numbers there rise when temperatures drop. We were lucky to find a reservation at The Alling House. It's a distinctive property with a large house and five cottages, each set up differently, with front porches and swings and its own theme. There's the Frontier Cabin, where we stayed, decorated in a cowboy and western style, as well as the Railroad Cabin and Nature Cabin, plus rooms in the main house. The cabins made a comfortable, fun, quirky base for the nearby springs and other local sights. Ours had a good-sized kitchen with what we needed to prepare meals, solid internet, and a flat-screen TV with ROKU. We set up our streaming services easily. There was also a video cassette/DVD player and a good movie collection. The king bed was very comfortable, with several pillow choices, and the bath towels were new and fluffy. The cowboy memorabilia made the Frontier Cabin feel like a little museum. It has a huge Jacuzzi tub, though we didn't get to try it. Even in very cold weather the heat warmed the cabin quickly, and the electric fireplace in the sitting area added warmth and atmosphere. The Alling House used to operate as a bed and breakfast, though breakfast isn't served now. The new owner hopes to bring it back to a proper B&B and is gradually renovating the large property. There's no manager on site, but communication was thorough and prompt, and getting in with the door keypad code was easy. Christian was accommodating when we discovered we'd been given a queen bed although we thought we'd booked a king. We called the number posted by each unit, and Christian quickly arranged access to a unit with a king. The cottages and rooms surround a sizable courtyard with lots of outdoor seating, so it seems like a great gathering place for a family or group of friends. We're already thinking about bringing a family group back, and would enjoy seeing how Christian's renovations progress.

I stayed in two Alling House cabins on June 28 and 29, 2025 with my elderly Dad and two teens. It's a beautiful historic B&B from around 1903, on the same street as Blue Spring State Park, maybe 10-15 minutes away. De Leon Spring State Park and Cassadaga are nearby too. The cabins were clean and nice, and the neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Our Pioneer cabin had a loft with two twin beds and a queen or full-sized bed downstairs. There's a Bravo brand Spanish grocery nearby, and the host was wonderful. We had a great time and would stay again.
