Homewood Suites by Hilton Orange New Haven

Breakfast was a highlight, with a great selection: pulled pork carnitas, a salsa bar, fruit, yogurt, pudding, overnight oats, waffles, eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage. The breakfast staff were super friendly. We only wished they'd had boiled eggs. The front desk woman was so friendly when we arrived, though I didn't get her name. Our room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the pillows really soft. There's laundry on site, a huge pool area, and a fantastic gym. We're traveling from Arizona, and this has been our best stop so far. We'd definitely stay again if we're back this way.

Room 441 was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Still, there were a few hassles. The business center had run out of paper, and I had to track some down. Breakfast's eggs and potatoes were cold, and they were out of ketchup. I also had to find someone to let me into the pool and hot tub area because of access problems they said had been going on for days, maybe weeks. Nobody mentioned that at check-in, even though I asked about the pool. Across from my room, a very loud family seemed to be living there. Their voices didn't carry into my room, but the door kept slamming until at least 11 pm on Sunday. The TV apps didn't work because there was no internet connection. I didn't ask for help and just watched regular TV. Despite the quirks, I'd stay again. Hopefully they'll fix some of this, and I'll review again next time.

The two women working breakfast were super nice and sweet. Check-in could have had a friendlier greeting, though. Around 9 pm, my husband and I were in the hot tub hoping to relax when small children, around six or seven, came in with floaties. Maybe there should be a time limit for small kids in the pool area. I probably wouldn't book on a weekend if I wanted a peaceful stay. It was a little pricey per night too.

The location was great, and the room was really nice. We got in late, and James was a huge help sorting out our reservation, which had been messed up. He even came outside to help me with my EV. It has EV charging and free breakfast, and James made the stay so pleasant. We chatted for a while, and he's awesome.
