89 & Nine Motel

We had a great time at this cute little motel. It’s simple, but just right, and the contactless check-in was brilliant. Everything was clean and stocked for us. The location made it easy to walk over to the Thunderbird for their “ho-made pies,” and I’d love to take a closer look at a couple things in the little shop if it’s open next time. One small issue, water tended to get across the bathroom floor during showers. Lower shower curtains or a silicone shield on the shower pan might help.

The room was cozy and clean, with the heater already going. Two gas stations, shops, and food options nearby made this a practical stop. The manager was very gracious when I spoke with her on the phone, and check-in was easy. My big dog Bear was no problem at all. :)

The rooms are small, but the beds were comfortable and the inside was very clean for an older roadside motel. If you just need an inexpensive, comfortable place to crash after a long drive, this was perfect.

I was tired during a camping trip and hadn't had time to find a place to set up camp, so this stop was completely unplanned. From the outside, the motel didn't look like much, and I drove past it to try another hotel. They couldn't take my dogs, though, and suggested I try 89 and 9 across the street. The registration office was empty, with a number posted to reach someone. It took 12 minutes of automated phone prompts before I got a person, but she was very kind and professional. There was a room available, and the reservation went quickly and smoothly. Inside, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and nicely laid out the room was. It was good value in a convenient location, and I felt lucky to have found it while vacationing at Zion national Park. I’d recommend it to anyone in a similar spot.
