LivAway Suites Orem-Vineyard

We chose Livaway for the in-room kitchen and were happy with it. The room was neat, tidy, and modern, and the woman who checked us in was very nice and helpful. We’d stay again, hopefully on the third floor. We were on the first floor near the entrance and heard people coming and going, kids yelling and running in the hall, and a couple of groups talking loudly on their way somewhere. The front doors slam loudly, and it went on past midnight. We could also hear water flushing from upstairs. We laughed it off, though.

Check-in was easy, the room was quiet and clean, and the front desk staff were very nice and professional. It had small kitchen amenities, too. For security, you need a key to get through the door to the elevator, so not just anyone can reach your room. The building feels pretty secure day and night. I enjoyed my stay and would choose this over the Laquinta right off the freeway on 800 north in Orem Ut.

The room was very clean and had what we needed. The place seems pretty new, so I was surprised the bed had a huge body divot on one side.

I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and have never been treated this badly or inappropriately. The manager was rude, condescending, aggressive, and disgusting. He came into my room even though he had no business being there. He’d been told I was having seizures all day and that we needed one more night, but then he changed checkout from 11 to 10. I’d been vomiting, sweating, and feeling awful, and he asked what the smell was, saying it was disgusting. After his visit, I had the worst seizure I’ve ever experienced. I couldn’t breathe, move, or talk. His aggression and intrusion traumatized me and contributed to real medical issues. I don’t feel safe or comfortable here. The next morning he came in again. When I said we were leaving, he pushed past me and said it didn’t look like we were packing. I tried my best, but had seizures until 445 am. He lied about checkout being at 10. He’s treated several people with disdain and complete ignorance, and has a god complex. He abused his position and my privacy, made me cry, and caused me to feel violated. I hope someone pays attention and makes this right. I don’t deserve to feel this way, and I recommend people stay elsewhere, where staff treat you like a human and respect your privacy. I’m filing a complaint with the Better Business Berau and contacting Michael Neilson. He needs to be fired.
